HOTSURE's social investment is about building trust and relationships, so that people get excited about HOTSURE because they see how the company has helped nature conservation and the farming industry in general. HOTSURE's primary areas of involvement are research, awareness, education, safety, security and precision farming methods. We make a distinction between projects and donations. A project involves a proactive approach on the part of HOTSURE. Once we have identified a potential area of need, we will seek a partner through which we can become involved. Together we will formulate joint project goals, and the partner will begin to implement them. After the project has received funding, our involvement will continue with reports and visits to assess the progress being made. Projects can have international, national and/or regional impact. Many of the projects will be monitored by HOTSURE staff, thus maximising impact. We must invest for the long-term to ensure that the investment we make bears fruit in the long term. HOTSURE emphasises the sustainability of a project. We encourage projects to be innovative in finding ways of improving nature conservation and farming for the long term, because at some point, we will need to bring the funding to a close. For example, a problem animal control research team studying an area with a high rate of incidents can use the HOTSURE products and services to fence off the problem animals, in return for having their research expenses waived. Many of our projects focus on empowering emerging farmers and -researchers. In focusing on emerging farmers and -researchers, we are preparing a better world for those who follow us. Researchers and farmers play a critical role in society; if their lives are unstable, a crucial layer of food supply and future resource management is immobilised.
